The Dragon Prince
Name: Kouhei Masaru
Age: 18-20
Species: Human
Gender: Male
Height: 5’3
Weight: Anywhere from 140 to 150 lbs.
Appearance: The dude in the picture above this.
Personality: Though he was born from a bloodline of kings, he had the natural gift to lead. He had this presence where people were compelled to follow him. Even though Kouhei was young, his leadership capabilities were far beyond his years. The way he did things were much different than his father's. Kouhei was decisive, but thoughtful and idealistic. He was also strict, but undeniably kind. Having high moral standards also greatly affected his leadership style. His men had the highest respect for him
“While he was strict on the battlefield and often corrected us for our mistakes, he did it lovingly. He often showed compassion, mercy and grace, but was not afraid to make the necessary sacrifices that war calls. On the battlefield, one who cannot have blood on his hands is not either worthy or competent to lead. Prince Kouhei accepted each and every one of the people that served directly under him. The reason for that is because to him, we in the dragon platoon are brothers. They are what he knows. This is what helps him be victorious. The Dragon Platoon fight like brothers because in our hearts that’s what we are.” – Prince Kouhei’s Second in Command, Daichi Kozu.
War had heavily influenced Kouhei’s personality. He valued life, peace, friendship and freedom because of all the death, blood and sorrow that he saw. One too many times, he had sworn that he had seen the grim reaper himself upon the fields of battle. More often than not, he woke up having nightmares of the war. The trauma that he had when he first went into battle haunts his dreams. No matter how mentally strong Kouhei was, the memories continued to give him sleepless nights.
In his spare time, Kouhei loved to read stories, fables, myths, romance and tragedies. He liked spending time alone with himself, but wasn’t a person who was isolated. Often, he would head to rivers and forests to relax with his brothers. Not his real brothers, but his closest friends. The men he fought in arms. They were not only a group that would defend their brethren, but they would take care of the families of the men that fell. After all, they were family.
Background: Born into royalty, Kouhei was a prince. Though he was a prince, he was not to be king since he was the fifth son of the king. The princes of the kingdom where trained from the moment they could wield a sword. The rigorous training had made them fine soldiers for battle, but not like most of the soldiers, they were also highly educated. Every man in the army had to be educated, but the education the princes received couldn’t even compare to the regular soldier. They were proficient in a number of languages, they were master tacticians, and were even knowledgeable of chemistry and science. Like the Spartans, each prince had to train in the harshest lands. In the Mountains of Desolation were the wyvern were to the Forests of Raikan were the orcs lurked were their training grounds. From the moment they finished their military course, they were formidable opponents.
Now, some of you must be asking why Kouhei experienced battle trauma even though he went through such brutal training. The world had first encountered the titans and the dragons simultaneously when Kouhei was first deployed into battle against the Urukai. Though unlike the hideous creatures, Urukai weren’t ones to devour humans, but the titans and dragons were. Standing meters above any man, they would feast on humans and urukai both while they were still alive. Kouhei saw this first hand when a titan had devoured his brother. It was not a complete loss since the first dragon the world encountered had appeared on the battlefield that same day. It was Prince Kouhei’s squad who slew the magical reptilian like beast while many men had ran in fear of the hideous creature. That is how Kouhei’s squad, which later became a platoon who served directly under the king, was named the Dragons of Masaru or simply, The Dragon Platoon.
Abilities: This varies from roleplay to roleplay, but as a general rule of thumb, Kouhei’s powers are slowly awakening. Kouhei didn’t know that the dragon he had killed in his past was a very special one. Kouhei unknowingly absorbed the dragon’s soul into his, and with the soul, he inherited its powers. Kouhei doesn’t know he’s a dragonborn. In his world, dragonborns are only told in myths and legends. Though, there are some living in the shadows. (Yes, you Skryim fans out there know what I’m talking about.) Kouhei has heightened senses. Better smell, better eyesight, and terribly good hearing are traits that all dragonborns have. Having skin as strong as dragon scales, he also has strength to overpower a whole platoon of men. The last his abilities is the power to wield the destructive element known as fire.
